The purpose of my school is to help basic writers improve and polish the skills required to be successful with college writing assignments, workplace written communication and other writing tasks they might encounter. These are components of actual college courses taught by an experienced, current college instructor.
My school offers options that can help a variety of people in many different ways!
If you are you are at the beginning of your college experience… these courses can give you a head start. While other students will likely be working on these skills in their composition courses along with their other subjects, you will already be prepared to jump right in.
If you are an upperclassman… you might be a few semesters removed from those first-year writing courses and would benefit from a refresher on the concepts.
If you are a non-traditional student returning to school after a hiatus… these courses would also serve as a good refresher while also updating you on the current approaches to writing.
If you are you a professional… these courses can help you learn how to better present yourself to employers or customers.
Hi, I’m Kate
I have had the pleasure of teaching writing on the college level for nearly 20 years and have experience working with students of all skill levels - from beginning basic writers to senior writing majors - both in person and online. The students I have worked with come from a variety of different backgrounds with many differing college experiences. By approaching each student as an individual with specific needs, I help them feel at ease and encouraged.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have also helped create curriculum for an award-winning university first-year writing program. The design of my courses is informed by what I learned working in collaboration with other instructors and administrators about writing program standards as well as the best way to present information to students in order for them to have positive writing experiences with successful outcomes.
